Research Lab Goals
Our research group focuses on advancing geospatial artificial intelligence (GeoAI) to address problems arising from human-environment interactions. We aim to develop innovative solutions that can help us better understand and manage the effects of anthropogenic activities on the environment.
The interdisciplinary research conducted in my lab group draws on the fields of geographic information science, geography, computer science, artificial intelligence, and other fields to represent, analyze, and examine possible futures of real-world urban, rural, and natural environments.
Current Projects
Spatially-explicit GeoAI
Integrating spatial data properties in GeoAI and assessing the potential impact of overlooking them in real-world applications.
Explainable GeoAI
Developing, implementing, and evaluating strategies for making GeoAI models more interpretable and transparent to support spatial decision making.
GeoAI for Geosimulation
Developing, implementing, and evaluating GeoAI-enhanced spatiotemporal models to leverage data-driven insights and expert knowledge.
